STEP 3: Connecting Battery Cables and Ground: STEP 3A) Connect red / positive (+) battery cable to the copper post (or Side Mount bolt) on the outer bracket on the Battery Brain. STEP 3B) Connect the black / negative (-) battery cable to the negative (-) post / bolt on the battery. STEP 3C) Connect the clip end of the black ground wire to the clamp bolt on the negative (-) battery post / nut or ground to chassis with a metal screw.
TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION: The manual reset control knob on the Battery Brain unit should be turned to one of the ON positions. Then press down on the manual reset control knob to establish contact.
Once installed on the vehicle's positive battery terminal, all Battery Brain models monitor the battery charge to detect if the charge is being drained below the level required to start the engine (e.g. 12.1 Volts). If this occurs, Battery Brain works by disconnecting the battery from the vehicle's electrical system, preventing further drainage and preserving enough charge to start the engine.
