How To Install A Trailer Brake Control On A Tow Vehicle

Electric brake controls are designed to apply the brakes of the towed vehicle or trailer. There are three types of brake controls on the market today timed, inertia, and proportional. Brake controllers used in the diagram below are Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite, Reese and Tekonsha brands. The harness shown is a part number 39507, typical of any electric brake control installation.
