The
Gentex 50-GENK242 is a video display located in a
auto dimming rearview mirror. When
paired with a backup camera, the display shows a real-time panoramic view of the
rear of the vehicle. The LCD display appears through the mirror glass
automatically when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. The display disappears
when the vehicle is shifted into any other gear.
The 2.4 inch liquid crystal display (LCD) appears through the mirror's reflective surface via Gentex's proprietary transflective coatings and lighting techniques. The result is a bright, high-resolution display in an intuitive location. The display is driven by any brand of backup camera (not included) with a RCA in/output located at the rear of the vehicle, and is video displayed on the left side of the mirror. A 20 foot harness, part# 50-24220 is included in the kit for easy plug in installation. 12 volt. OEM quality. 3 year limited warranty.

50-GENK352 NEW RCD - Rear Camera Display Gentex auto dimming mirror. Same features as the 50-GENK242 above but comes with with a 3.5" monitor (more than twice the screen area as the 2.4" monitor). 3 Yr 36,000 mile warranty, works with any rear image camera.

From a safety perspective, the Rear Camera LCD TV Display Mirrors should help reduce the risk of backup accidents, especially for cars, trucks, vans, motorhomes and suv with limited rear vision. Another benefit is the convenience associated with hooking up to boats, RVs and utility trailers.
*Please note that the video display mirror is strictly for rear camera use
only and is intended to be used as a supplemental device for drivers and does
not eliminate the need to check rear view mirrors or walk around the vehicle,
should conditions warrant. When it comes to backing up safely, nothing beats
walking around the vehicle prior to moving it.

Wedge mount mirrors are generally standard on vehicles manufactured in the United States, regardless of vehicle make. However, there can be exceptions. Wedge-style mirrors must be removed by loosening a small screw or allen nut, and pushing the mirror up towards the roof of the vehicle. If your vehicle's mirror mounting system looks similar to the photo at the left, you have a wedge-mount mirror. Our inside mirror kit come with this style of mounting. Camlock mount mirrors are generally standard on vehicles manufactured outside of the United States, including some U.S. brands. Camlock-style mirrors must be removed by turning the mirror 90 degrees so that it is perpendicular to the dash, and pulling down on the mirror. If your vehicle's mounting system looks similar to the photo at the left, you have a camlock-mount rearview mirror. An adapter is needed on this style of inside mirror. We do not recommend installing this mirror if your vehicle has airbag sensors in the headliner area or if your vehicle is equipped with OnStar.
If your car, truck or suv mirror is mounted within the windshield, not stuck on like the wedge mount or camlock style, detachment is not recommended. Or if your windshield wipers have a sensor mounted to your rearview mirror, installation of this mirror will inactivate the function. Our mirrors will not fit the following car and suv make / models: Acura, BMW, Hyundai, and Porsche.
